October 2nd was a perfect fall day for baseball.

There were participants from Grace Church (Whitestone), St Ann's (Sayville), Christ Church (Babylon), and St Mark's (Islip).

All of the above gathered in the town of Islip for an afternoon of softball.

St Mark's Lions played a 5 inning game with St Ann's.  Grace Church played Christ's Church.

With the Bishop just having completed his Sunday visit in Babylon, Mr. October himself took to the field with Christ Church. He batted .500.   In his first at bat, the Bishop hit a hot grounder and was thrown at first.   Later he hit into right field for a  single.

Everyone who wanted to play played.

With a great turn out of spectators there was large amount of cheering, and an impromptu choir was formed for the the 7th inning stretch.... singing Take me out to he Ball Game.

St Mark's, under the direction of Deacon Bryan Crain, sold hot dogs and BBQ Pork sandwiches with all the proceeds going to outreach.

A great time was had by all!
